CEO of Ajmal Perfumes
Abdulla Ajmal is the CEO of Ajmal Perfumes, a third-generation leader of the family-owned fragrance empire founded by his grandfather, Haji Ajmal Ali, in 1951 in Mumbai (then Bombay). The company, which began when Haji Ajmal Ali, a rice farmer from Hojai, Assam, ventured into trading precious oud (agarwood) with just ₹500 capital, has grown into a multi-million dollar perfumery house with over 300 fragrances, presence in 60+ countries, and 300+ exclusive retail outlets globally, managing estimated revenues exceeding ₹1,475 crore.
Born in Mumbai and having moved to the UAE in 1988, Abdulla gained international exposure in the UK before returning to Dubai to develop Ajmal's French-aligned fragrance lines. Previously serving as Chief Operating Officer, he was instrumental in expanding the brand's retail and distribution network. Mentored by his late uncle Nazir Ajmal and renowned French perfumer Jacques Chabert, Abdulla has blended traditional Arabic perfumery with contemporary fragrance innovation. Under his leadership as CEO, Abdulla is spearheading AI integration and sustainability initiatives.
