Chaitanya Mathur, a visionary entrepreneur with over 18 years of experience, has been shaping India’s entertainment and hospitality industry by pioneering category-defining ventures, setting benchmarks and advancing the ecosystem for premium lifestyle brands.
Chaitanya’s entrepreneurial journey began in 2007 with the launch of a nightlife-focused entertainment company, followed by Bangin Beats, an electronic music magazine conceived at the cusp of India’s emerging music movement. His entrepreneurial breakthrough came in 2015 with the co-creation of The Grub Fest, one of the country’s largest food festivals. By 2019, he founded Zomato’s offline experiences business as Zomato Live (now District), playing a prominent role in scaling large format food and culture led events across India. Flagship initiatives under his leadership include Zomaland by Zomato and the Feeding India Concert featuring Post Malone in 2021 at Mumbai’s Mahalaxmi Race Course. Over the course of his career, Chaitanya has executed over 40 concerts and festivals, garnered over 10 million customers, and generated revenues exceeding ₹200 crore.
In parallel, he has created several notable restaurants, including Dear Donna, Bohca, Dirty Good, and Dirty Jungle, each contributing significantly to Delhi’s growing dining and nightlife culture.
In 2023, Chaitanya founded Ninecamp Ventures, raising $2 million in seed funding from founders of Zomato, Honasa, Cars24, PharmEasy, alongside other prominent investors and cultural leaders. Today, Ninecamp’s portfolio includes Marieta, Hikki, and Mr Button — marking his ambition to premiumise India’s next generation of lifestyle brands.
